About

The mission of Anchored in Hope is to empower Haitian artisans to provide for their families with dignity. Our desire is to inspire hope for a better tomorrow through our reliance on the anchor that we have in Jesus Christ.

Anchored in Hope was founded in 2014 by Jessica Burmester, your ordinary girl from Plymouth, MN who stepped out in faith and followed God's call. She was a Special Education teacher in MN, when on a short term mission trip to Haiti she fell in love with the Haitian people. She quit her job and moved to Haiti in 2012.

Anchored in Hope was started as a way to help the Haitians that she loves, raise funds for her adoption, support others in Haiti and to share the beautiful products that are truly changing lives!

Each metal art piece is hand made by Haitians. The artisans use the metal from a 55 gallon oil drum and a variety of tools to carefully handcraft each piece with a unique style and design.

We also have started "Hope and Scholarship" because we felt called to do more! Read more about it by clicking on Hope and Scholarship at the top of the screen.
